TDTU: 2024 Alumni Homecoming Day in Celebration of its 27th Anniversary
As part of the celebration for the 27th anniversary of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the university successfully organized the 2024 Alumni Homecoming Day on September 21, 2024, with the theme “TDTU: 27 years – Alumni Homecoming Day.” The event aimed to foster a vibrant start to the academic year and strengthen the bond between the university and its alumni community.
A day of Connection and Celebration
The Alumni Homecoming Day brought together a diverse group of alumni, faculty leaders, and current students. In a warm and engaging meeting with university administrators, alumni haf the chance to reconnect with their former lectures, meet with current students, and engage in meaningful discussions about future initiatives.
A key highlight of the gathering was the discussion on launching the official TDTU Alumni Website and the planning of upcoming activities designed to expand alumni networks across faculties. These efforts are expected to deepen alumni engagement and encourage collaborative efforts that benefit both the university and broader society.

In a heartfelt speech, Ms. Bi Mai Vy – alumna of Cohort 12, Faculty of Business Administration – shared her personal reflection and officially contributed VND 50 million to launch the TDTU Alumni Scholarship Fund.

With its philosophy of liberal education for holistic development, TDTU has been more than just an academic institution. It’s where I learned to be creative, responsible, and resilient. I am grateful for the values nurtured here, which have empowered me to overcome life’s challenges,” she shared.

As part of the celebration, various vibrant activities took place throughout the day, including:
- Sports exchanges (football and badminton)
- Corporate booths showcasing products and offering recruitment opportunities
- Talks and Q&A sessions with outstanding alumni sharing career experiences
- Reunion meetings between alumni and their respective faculties
In the sports events, 15 alumni teams completed in friendly matches. The Football Championship went to the Faculty of Business Administration. The Men’s Badminton Singles and Doubles titles were won by the Faculty of Sports Science and the Faculty Electrical & Electronics Engineering, respectively.


The alumni football teams also took commemorative photos to mark the event.

Mr. Tăng Khắc Quý – Director of the Center for Business Cooperation and Alumni Affairs – presented awards for the badminton competition during the Alumni Sports Festival.
The Alumni Business Booth Area attracted participation from 25 enterprises and welcomed hundreds of students who came to explore, connect, and discuss career orientation and job opportunities. The event also provided alumni with a valuable opportunity to return to their alma mater, reconnect with lecturers, and attend reunion sessions with faculty leadership. It further allowed alumni to meet with current students, sharing their learning experiences, skill development tips, and career-building strategies.

A large number of TDTU students visited the booths to seek career advice and explore opportunities offered by alumni-run businesses.

The Alumni Homecoming Day has become a traditional annual event at TDTU, designed to connect generations of students, facilitate meaningful engagement between students and alumni-led businesses, and support branding efforts of alumni enterprises.
