The final round of TDTU Student Innovation and Startup Contest for the Academic Year 2024-2025

On April 16, 2025, the final round of the TDTU Student Innovation and Startup Contest for the Academic Year 2024-2025 took place at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), featuring the top 10 most outstanding projects

In attendance were Ms. Dang Thi Luan – Acting Director of the Ho Chi Minh Innovation and Startup Center; from TDTU, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son – Vice President and Head of the Competition Organizing Committee; Mr. Tang Khac Quy – Director of the Center of Cooperation Enterprise and Alumni; as well as faculty leaders and a large number of students who came to support the teams.

Speaking at the final round, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son emphasized: “In recent years, the University has paid great attention to innovation and entrepreneurship through various practical activities for students. This year, the University continues to host the ‘TDTU Student Innovation and Startup Contest for the Academic Year 2024-2025 to further promote the startup spirit among student. Whether big or small, every startup idea is valuable as it reflects the dynamism, creativity, and ambition of TDTU student who dear to challenge themselves and pursue ideas that carry personal imprints"

This year, the 10 competing teams presented unique and innovative projects that had successfully passed two challenging preliminary rounds to enter the final round. During the final stage, the teams competed in two segments: presenting their startup ideas/projects and responding to critical questions from the panel of judges.

The startup ideas and projects presented by the teams demonstrated the enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit of TDTU students, nurturing creativity and addressing urgent societal needs.

Competition results

First prize: Awarded to students from the Faculty of Pharmacy for the project “Trà Sâm Ngọc Việt” (Ngoc Viet Ginseng Tea)”. The team received a cash prize of 10 million VND and a Certificate of Merit from the TDTU President.

Second Prize: Granted to students from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering for the project “ Braille Learning Device for the Visually Impaired”, along with 8 million VND and a Certificate of Merit from the President

Third Prize: Given to another team from the Faculty of Pharmacy for the project “Morus Essence – Skincare from Morus Alba”, with 5 million VND and a Certificate of Merit

Two consolation Prized: Both teams received 3 million VND and Certificates of Merit form the Organizing Committee. One went to the team from  the Faculty of Information Technology for the project “Hodos: A Travel App for Foreign Tourists”. The other went to the team from the Faculty of Business Administration for the project T-Fresh: A High-Tech Urban Agriculture Startup Solution”

TDTU Student Innovation and Startup Contest provided a platform for student to apply their academic knowledge to real-life situations, engage in entrepreneurial thinking, and gain hands-on experience. It served as a powerful motivation for students to pursue their startup dreams and demonstrated the University’s strong commitment to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in its student community.
